Ambur is a seasoned business leader, having served nearly 13 years at the executive-level of state and local governments steeped in over 10 years of public health leadership. Her expertise rests in organizational leadership and performance improvement. She brings a broad administrative background in strategic design, implementation and the evaluation of operational plans and building and maintaining partnerships.
Prior to joining St. Louis County Department of Human Services in December 2023, Ambur served as the Deputy Director of Public Health for a local Public Health Department located in Kansas. From February 2022, Ambur provided direction over three divisions: Planning and Operations, Community Health, and Environmental Health. By February 2023, Ambur was appointed the department’s Acting Director. Ambur successfully led the organization through their strategic planning process which yielded their 2024 – 2028 Strategic Plan. Ambur maintained the Acting Director role until November 2023, when she accepted the Deputy Director role for the Department of Human Services for Saint Louis County.
Ambur holds a Masters of Business degree (MBA) from Ashland University, a Masters of Social Work (MSW) from Ohio State University, and an undergraduate degree (BSW) in social work from Capital University. She is also a licensed social worker (LSW).
