Rae is from Cedar Rapids, Iowa, and came to Missouri in 2020 to attend the University of Missouri. They intended to pursue a degree in Photojournalism, but switched tracks to Social Work after their first semester in college. They served as an Intern for Representative Doug Mann's office in the Missouri State House for the 2024 session, where they got extensive first hand experience with the legislative process and the effect of lobbying.

Rae will graduate in December 2024 from the University of Missouri with Bachelor's degrees in Social Work and Political Science, as well as a Multi-Cultural certificate. Currently, they work at the Boone County Juvenile Justice Center, and will be completing their bachelor's practicum at that facility the 2024 Fall semester. For fun Rae reads nonfiction, hangs out with their two cats, and tends to their flower garden.
