Hello from DeAnna Dinwiddie, your NASW-MO Chapter President!
Thank you for electing me as your board president. I officially stepped into the role on July 1st and hit the ground running. It was an eventful first month, starting with our annual board retreat where we welcomed our newly appointed board members. For the first time in many years, we have a representative from every unit on our board! To get a better understanding of the NASW Chapter President's role, I participated in the NASW’s ALM (Association Leadership Meeting) training. This experience allowed me to connect with chapter presidents, presidents-elects, and executive directors from across the country. I learned a lot and was inspired by the creativity and passion for social work that everyone brought to the training. These experiences have shaped my primary goal for my presidency: enhancing engagement.
Having been involved with NASW-MO for three years in various roles, one of my favorite aspects has been connecting with amazing social workers from across the state and in diverse specialties. I’m excited to engage more with our members, learn how our chapter can better support you, and encourage increased involvement within the association. To help with this, I’ve created a survey to gather your input on how we can best support you as social workers. Please share your thoughts here: https://forms.gle/n9XARSyWzG37bee87
I’m thrilled to serve as your NASW-MO Chapter President and look forward to meeting many of you at the conference in October. Until then, I wish you all the best!
Warm regards,
DeAnna Dinwiddie, MSW, LMSW
