Your Inspiration for the Month

This New Year’s Inspiration of the Month is a poem for of all of us social workers who work the holidays, (to all folks who work holidays), “To the Garbage Collectors in Bloomington, Indiana, the First Pickup of the New Year,” by Philip Appleman. It’s an ode to working folks, to hustle, to grind, to trying, to effort. As the child of a father who ranched and worked construction during dark mornings, I loved the admiration for those who work while others sleep.
