NASW-MO Student Lounge

Greetings Students!

Training, connections, and support just for you! Read on! We want you to know how much your membership matters to NASW-MO, so we are adding the NASW-MO Student Lounge to our Newsletter, starting this School Year. Look for links to FREE student educational offerings each month (there’s one below!), as well as other information specific to your experiences and needs.

  • There’s an NASW-MO JOB FAIR in Columbia on October 10th. NASW-MO is hosting our first Job Fair as part of our Fall Conference, October 11-14th, and you are invited! Spread the word! Flyer here.
  • Students are also invited to volunteer as part of our Fall Conference. It’s a good resume builder and a great way to network in the profession. Volunteers get free Conference admission! Email the chapter for more information: chapter.naswmo@socialworkers.org
  • Look for NASW-MO to be coming to your campus soon, virtually or in-person, to share about NASW, public policy, advocacy, and the profession. We try to make it to as many schools as possible each year.

Good luck on your upcoming year!

PS: Not yet a student member? Learn more HERE. Interested in writing for the Student Lounge? Reach out to chapter.naswmo@socialworkers.org.

FREE: Upcoming National Student Event Series: We Are All Macro Social Workers

Thursday, September 19, 2024
5:00 - 6:30 pm Central Time

Do you want to get more involved in advocacy efforts, but worry that you don’t have the time? Curious about leadership opportunities but are not sure where to start? Being a board member, serving on a legislative committee, and contacting your legislators are exciting experiences that take less time than you may think. This student series event will break down some of the barriers to macro level careers and volunteer opportunity. Come share your experiences and learn from longtime NASW volunteer and elected leader, Kristi Wood, MSW, CAPSW, about her journey and advice to the next generation of social workers.

Free for all to attend! Register for “We Are All Macro Social Workers”
