Ethical
Principle: Social workers behave in a trustworthy manner.

Social
workers are continually aware of the profession’s mission, values, ethical
principles, and ethical standards and practice in a manner consistent with
them. Social workers should take measures to care for themselves professionally
and personally. Social workers act honestly and responsibly and promote ethical
practices on the part of the organizations with which they are affiliated.
As one of the core values, integrity holds
strong significance in the field of social work. There is an expectation for practitioners
to address social issues, and to fight for diversity, equity and inclusion. Upholding
this core value requires social workers to commit to maintaining an ethical
standard, being transparent in our work, and prioritizing the wellbeing of the
communities that we serve. I will discuss eight ways to ensure that as a social
worker, you are maintaining integrity.
